Getting Involved


Q: How do I know what events are happening at the school?


A: A school supply list can be found on this website http://schoolbennett.org. In addition, a list is sent home in the mail in mid August.
Q: How many recesses are there? 
A: One fifteen minute AM and PM recess and a 30-minute lunch recess.

A: During curriculum night, teachers have sign up sheets or you may contact the teacher directly.
A: Whenever you visit school, you must check in at the office. You may visit during lunch anytime. Other visitation times must be scheduled with the teacher. 

A: Please call in absences or late arrivals to Bennett’s main office. See the school contact info.

Transportation / Buses 

A: Transportation will mail out cards with information on the time and place for pick up. Cards are usually mailed in August.
A: Please e-mail or send a note to the teacher, C.c. the office in case there is a substitute. The teacher wll then write your child a bus pass. Your child cannot get on a different bus or off at a different stop without a bus pass. ?

A: Please come to the office to sign out your child. The office will call down to the teacher to request dismissal of your student. 

 
Food
A: Money is deposited into their account, checks made payable to Bennett Elementary. You can pay with Visa/MasterCard charged through PayPams at www.paypams.com or 1-800-994-5100. Please be advised a $10.00 yearly fee will be charged if you utilize the PayPams service. 
A: Yes.
 
Medical 
A: Please inform their teacher and clearly state the allergy(s) on their Emergency card which is distributed the first week of school. .
A: All medications will need a doctor's prescription and a signed medical form available from the office. Parents must also sign off on the form. All medications include over the counter and prescription drugs. We are only allowed to administer medications that can be swallowed. We cannot administer eye drops or ointments.
